The second annual DragCon rocked Manhattan this past weekend and it was a drag!
RuPaul and World of Wonder brought RuPaul's DragCon NYC 2018 back to the big apple with big audiences. The event welcomed 50,000 RuPaul's Drag Race fans to the Javits Center in New York City, NY, rivaling numbers of the fourth annual RuPaul's DragCon LA 2018. Along with the gaggle of queen-lovers, the vendors on the floor of the convention center grossed over $8 million last year. DragCon is big, big business.
That Podcast with LPiddy and Jon Jon was invited as members of the media to the event. Jon Jon, 1/2 of the duo, made his trek to New York City for the RuPaul's DragCon shenanigans.

RuPaul's DragCon NYC 2018 opened up with RuPaul Charles' ribbon cutting. Michelle Visage was standing directly behind RuPaul on the pink carpet. Along with the RuPaul What's the Tee? with Michelle Visage hosts, there were a handful of queens, including Bob the Drag Queen, Aquaria, Vivacious, Mrs. Kasha Davis, Mayhem Miller, Ongina and more!
Like the event in Los Angeles, RuPaul's DragCon NYC 2018 had stars of the Emmy-award winning show, RuPaul's Drag Race, walk the pink carpet. Queens included Trixie Mattel, Bob the Drag Queen, Detox.
RuPaul was engaged with guests of RuPaul's DragCon NYC 2018 by hosting two panels, called RuTalks. There was also a live taping of Rupaul What's the Tee? with Michelle Visage. You go, Ru!
The biggest news of the weekend was the announcement made at one of the panels. Fan favorites and global sensations Trixie and Katya, who have had over 124 million views on YouTube, let fans know that their show, "UNHhhh," is returning! The content will be exclusive to World of Wonder's WOW Presents Plus, then hits their YouTube channel, with over 1 million subscribers, the following week.
RuPaul's DragCon 2018 was a roaring success. The Javits Center, nestled in Manhattan, was the perfect venue for the event. If you've never experienced DragCon, sashay down the pink carpet the next chance you get. See you in LA and NY! For more information, click here.
