It's April, fool. It's the fourth blog of this year and I'm here to talk about my goals. I've utilized this platform as a way to hold myself accountable for my 2021 goals. As you may remember, in an effort to not get side-tracked with a million projects, I set some goals on my blog at the end of January.
Living with OCD and ADD has its "perks," but one of the downfalls is the need to obsess over new projects... and often. This is no different for my aspirations. It is not out of the norm for me to be involved in multiple projects, as opposed to cultivating a small list of passion projects. Listing a small, concise list of goals enables me to remind myself of what they are and how far along I am. In the last few months, I've made strides with the goals I've set on a professional level, but my personal ones need some attention.
I'm not proud to provide the update on my weight and finances, but it's a commitment I've made to myself and you all; to be truthful in setting and attaining my goals. Here's an update for y'all.
Health Goal (0%): ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Although I was down 11 pounds earlier this year. Cool, right? Well, I've gained them back. Now, you may say, Jon Jon, you still look svelt... and it's true. From my peak weight last year, I'm still down 25 el bees. But see? I'm hanging on to an old win... it's a new year with a new goal. The goal is still to lose 50 pounds in 2021, so I am committed to doing my daily workouts and taking my nightly stroll. In fact, I'm going to get up to do that following the publishing of this blog post. I commit to have lost a minimum of 15 pounds when I update you all again during the Summer.
$10K in the Bank
Financial Goal (0%): ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
It's easy for me to attain goals in the entertainment and entrepreneurial sectors. I love creating and innovating! I tend to be less motivated when focusing on personal goals; finances fall into that category. Although I have a positive position with investments and retirement, my personal savings has been impacted in the first quarter. The goal of $10K in a Savings account has deviated as I've depleted the $1000 savings, that I shared on the February blog. The $10,000 goal is back to zero and I'm committed to having a balance of $2500 in the next update blog; in the coming months.
Poddin' and Vidyas
Podcast Goal (100%): ★★★★★★★★★★
Video Goal (90%): ★★★★★★★★★☆
If there is anything I can hang my hat on, it's my tenacious work ethic and a passion for creating! As I shared in February, I completed my goal to host, produce and share 100 podcasts. I'm so proud of the Cup of Jon Jon podcast and its one hundred episodes. I will create more podcasts in the future, but first: my other 2021 goals!
I'm also knocking on the door of 100 YouTube videos! That's right, as of today, I've recorded 93 videos for my channel, which means I have just seven to go. I'm optimistic I will hit the goal of one hundred YouTube videos by the time of my next update in the Summertime.
That Podcast with LPiddy and Jon Jon: ✪✪✪
JR Slots: ✪✪✪
It's been a treat recording and creating with two of my best Judies: Laurie from That Podcast with LPiddy and Jon Jon & Ryan from JR Slots. A 2021 goal was to create more with my pals. This year, LPiddy and I have recorded three episodes of #ThatPodcast; Ryan and I recorded three videos for the new JR Slots YouTube channel. The JR Slots videos premiere Memorial Day weekend. I'm grateful to work with my friends and excited to continue creating with them in 2021.
Exploring the state of my 2021 goals was both gratifying, but also eye-opening. I reckon everyone should review their goals on a regular basis. I am re-committed to my personal goals and will bring the same passion to them as I do for the goals I set in my creative world. I'm positive there will be much progress next time I write an update!
That's a wrap on April, my friends. As Justin Timberlake said, "It's gonna be May!" So, go on, may you enjoy this next month and see you on the blog next month! I'll be back in the Summer with an update on these goals.
